Reflection of My Fall Semester Internship

My first semester as an intern at Walker Creek Elementary was so much fun and I'm very grateful to have had the experience in Mrs. Webster's second grade class. I really enjoyed all the students and getting to read to them every day after recess. While in the classroom I got the opportunity to teach the students two lesson plans. They went very well but I wish I had more confidence in myself with my teaching. Now that it is a new semester I am hoping that I get to teach more lessons to help build my confidence and get an idea on how to teach different lessons. I cannot wait to get back in the classroom this week!

The Ideal Classroom

A recent article was wrote about about a classroom that exchanged their desks and chairs for couches and different various types of furniture for the students. If every classroom did this then the students learning would improve because they would be about to focus better since they would be more comfortable. If i were to have a classroom like this than every student would have their own beanie bag as their desk and we would sit around in a circle to learn. I remember that when I was in first grade my teacher had this old tub filled with blankets and pillows that we could go sit or lay in while we read. I loved to read just because I got to sit in there. If every classroom had something like this then students will love to learn school and want to go everyday!
